A Caltech Event at the Nation’s Premier Museum of Science and Industry
Caltech invites alumni, former postdocs, and friends in the Chicago area to a special gathering featuring remarks from Caltech President Thomas F. Rosenbaum, the Sonja and William Davidow Presidential Chair and Professor of Physics. The program will focus on community, connection, and the Institute today. Set inside the Griffin Museum of Science + Industry—one of the largest science museums in the world—the event offers a fitting backdrop to celebrate Caltech’s spirit of discovery and innovation.

Thomas F. Rosenbaum
President; Sonja and William Davidow Presidential Chair; Professor of Physics
Thomas F. Rosenbaum, Sonja and William Davidow Presidential Chair and Professor of Physics, is the ninth President of Caltech. He is an expert on the quantum mechanical nature of materials, conducting research at Bell Laboratories, IBM Watson Research Center, and the University of Chicago, where he served as Vice President for Research & Argonne National Laboratory and then Provost, before moving to Caltech in 2014. He received his bachelor’s degree in physics with honors from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University.
