Is Anybody Out There? The James Webb Space Telescope & NASA’s Tech-Enabled Search for Life

Join members of the Caltech and JPL communities for a shared alumni gathering hosted by the Stanford Club of Pasadena. The program features a presentation on the James Webb Space Telescope, the largest and most powerful space telescope ever built.

MIT Professor David W. Miller, chief technologist for the Astronomy and Fundamental Physics Directorate at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, will discuss the development, engineering challenges, and scientific impact of the James Webb Space Telescope. Prof. Miller’s talk will be followed by a Q&A facilitated by SCP member Joel Hartman, a research astronomer at Princeton.
