“Quantum Computing: Recent Advances and Future Outlook”
By Patty Lee
Quantum computing promises to revolutionize industries and solve complex problems beyond the reach of classical computers. But what is the current state of quantum computing? In this talk, we will explore the latest breakthroughs in quantum hardware and algorithms, discuss the expected timeframe for practical applications, and examine the roadmap for future developments.
About the Speaker
Patty is the Chief Scientist for Product Technologies at Quantinuum, where she leads their technology roadmap to scale up trapped-ion quantum computers. She is best known for her work on phase control of geometric phase gates in trapped ions.
Patty brings her expertise in quantum information science from her experience working as a staff scientist at National Institute of Standards and Technology, US Army Research Laboratory, and Lockheed Martin.
She holds a BS in physics from Caltech and a PhD in atomic physics from University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Patty joined Honeywell Quantum Solutions in 2016, which later combined with Cambridge Quantum Computing to form Quantinuum.
Our Alumni Volunteers
The following alumni work together to serve you: Avni Gandhi, Dave Adler, Jane Frommer, Mike Klein, Susan Huynh, and Peter Tong.
