Black’s Beach and Coastal Canyon Hike

Held on the second Sunday of every month, this hike explores scenic trails across the region. This month, Caltech alumni are invited to join a 5-mile coastal canyon loop hike beginning at the southernmost corner of the Torrey Pines Gliderport parking lot. The route includes Black’s Beach, Sumner Canyon, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Mushroom House, the Ho Chi Minh Trail, and the Salk Institute.
The hike includes approximately 800 feet of elevation gain. Low tide is expected at 3:45 p.m., making beach access ideal.
Bring water, lunch, and snacks. Family and friends are welcome.
