Woollahra, Australia | Peter Bloomfield (BS ’68) Sunday July 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Location: Home
I’m happy to host any Techers within driving distance or those visiting Sydney. Ricketts House and Glee Club were important parts of my undergraduate survival. I like the idea of an Italian dinner with good Australian wines.

Canton-de-Hatley, Canada | Roman Korol (PhD ’24) Saturday, July 25 at 5:00 p.m.

Location: Home
I got my PhD in chemistry in 2018 and now I am an assistant professor at the Sherbrooke University. My wife (also a chem PhD) and have 3 young boys,1, 2.8 and 4.6 years old at the time of the dinner, so other children are very welcome!

Berlin, Germany | Helena Kauppila (BS ’04) Sunday, July 26 at 3:00 p.m.

Location: Home

I recently moved into a house with a garden and thought an alumni grill party could be nice. I graduated from Caltech in 2004 in mathematics and have since veered into visual arts. I’m curious whether more Techers have made their way to Berlin. In any case, it will likely be a small group, so we can adjust timing if Sunday generally works.
Jerusalem, Israel | Michael Schein (BS ’01) Sunday, July 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Home
I’m sure there must be more Caltech-connected people in Israel than I know about and I hope to meet some of them.

Location: Other
Enjoy the outdoors with a picnic. July is a little cold, but still comfortable.

Basel, Switzerland | Randy Baron (BS ’90) Saturday, July 25 at 6:00 p.m.

Location: Home
I escaped in 1990, covered in bits of physics and astronomy; some still remain attached. I ended up doing scientific informatics mostly after that, barring a 14-month bike trip. I thought it might be fun to meet up and hear the stories and experiences of other Caltech alumni/students. I have a small backyard to hang out in (hopefully weather permits) and can make a campfire later on. I’m also half a block from the Rhine River which would be another option for hanging out. I’m not a stellar chef, so, potluck or BYOB. I have a BBQ in case someone wants to grill something, and I can make decent chocolate chip cookies.

Taipei, Taiwan | Erick Co (BS ’95) and Walter Lau (BS ’93) Saturday, July 25 at 11:30 a.m.

Location: Restaurant
Greetings from Walter (Ruddock, Chem ’93) and Erick (Page, Chem ’95). We are curious to know how many alumni are in Taiwan. Come join us for some food and fun.

We’re gathering in the stunning expanse of Meijer Gardens, currently home to one of the most extraordinary art exhibitions in the country.
CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens — one of only two Chihuly exhibitions in the world in 2026, running May 2 – Nov. 1, this is Chihuly’s third and most extensive exhibition at Meijer Gardens. It transforms both the outdoor gardens and indoor Sculpture Galleries with dramatic displays of color, form, and light.

Your hosts: Amanda Eckermann (BS Chemistry, 1997)
Co-host: José L. Mendoza-Cortés (Dabney House; BS Caltech/UCLA 2008; MS Caltech 2010; PhD Caltech 2012)
Hope to see you there!
Notes: Tickets for the indoor exhibition, CHIHULY: Radiant Forms, are sold separately — most guests spend one to four hours exploring.

Unpretentious home and meal, unpredictable guest backgrounds and interests. My interests span ballroom dancing, history, SETI, civil rights, performing arts, substitute teaching, transparently functioning computers, literature broadly construed, allowing others a turn to talk, and so on.

Location: Home
Aloha, If you happen to be in the area, come on over for an informal early potluck dinner and a beautiful sunset view over the Ko’olau Mountain range at our place! We might need to move indoors to eat, depending on the mosquito level. Rob was at JPL for 25 years, and now teaches part-time through the University of Hawaii while wearing several product development hats as part of a startup venture. Oahu, where we now live, went through a tsunami evacuation last year and experienced catastrophic flooding this year. I have decided to use my experiences as a survivor of the 2026 Altadena Eaton Fire to volunteer with our local Kailua Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) group, also informally known as Kailua Search and Rescue.

Hi! We are Dale and Marie, both Caltech undergrads from the class of 2000, Page House. Dale played soccer and has his degree in mechanical engineering. Marie participated in TACIT and was Page House president, and has her degree in chemistry. We hosted a Tables for Techers last year and had so much fun connecting with other Techers! We’d love to spend an evening with you this summer. Significant others and kids are welcome too! This will be a potluck in our home and back yard. We’ll provide the main course and drinks.

If you are able and willing to bring a side dish, snack, or dessert, please do. But don’t feel obligated. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of food, and we’d rather have your company than have you worried about bringing a dish. 🙂

Joining us as a co-host is Scott Gordon – Darb ’84, biology and chemistry, back in the day 4 square and hand ball (i.e. hung out at Dabney and Ruddock mostly). Orange Wars – actually have a quite fond spot for Fleming. And the odd adventures in Blacker, as I recall there was something about steam tunnels, Blacker and the Super Computer.
