Caltech Together: San Diego Second Sunday (November 2025)

Held on the second Sunday of the month, this hike invites alumni, family, and friends to explore one of San Diego’s favorite trails. Join fellow Techers for a climb up Iron Mountain, a 6-mile round-trip hike with about 1,100 feet of elevation gain and loss, offering rewarding views at the summit.

Meetup and timing
• Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the main trailhead at the east end of Poway Road.
• The group will depart shortly after gathering.
• Expect to finish by 12:30 p.m.

Optional lunch
After the hike, participants are welcome to gather for lunch at a nearby spot (location to be decided by the group).

What to bring
• Snacks and plenty of water
• Sunscreen, hat, and sturdy shoes
