Directions and Transportation

Both the Caltech and JPL campuses are readily accessible by car, shuttle, bike, and public transit.

Caltech’s interactive campus map includes descriptions, photos, and other detailed information on campus locations, as well as links to driving and walking directions.

Parking

• Parking is available in the Wilson Parking Structures (341 S. Wilson Avenue), near the intersection of Del Mar Boulevard and Wilson Avenue. Overflow parking will be available in the California Parking Structure (1248 California Boulevard). There is a pay station located in the North Wilson Parking Structure and the California Parking Structure where you can get your permit first.
• Friday: A complimentary parking code will be provided to all registered guests to enter at pay stations.
• Saturday and Sunday: All parking lots are open and free to all guests on weekends. No permit is required, and you may park in any unreserved (unmarked) parking stalls. 
  • Holliston Parking Structure (370 S. Holliston Avenue), near the intersection of Del Mar Boulevard and Holliston Avenue, is also available for closer access to Alumni House and other nearby events.
• Please note that street parking on Hill Avenue is a 2-Hour Limit from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except Sundays.
• The Athenaeum kindly requests you do not park in their lot due to limited capacity and private events being hosted. Please use the assigned structures or street parking on Hill Avenue. Courtesy shuttles will be available for guests who require special assistance from the assigned parking structures.

Local Accommodations

There are numerous hotel and motel options close to campus. Remember to ask whether special rates for Caltech guests and/or shuttle service to campus are available. Travel Services maintains a list of hotels with preferred rates for Caltech visitors.

Braun Athletic Center Access

All registered guests qualify to purchase Day Passes to Braun Athletic Center, available for $10, during alumni event weekend. Day Passes give full access to the Braun Athletic Center and its amenities each day of purchase. Amenities include an outdoor track, eight tennis courts (two marked for pickleball), two outdoor pools, two outdoor fields, three weight rooms, cardio equipment, bouldering cave, climbing wall, and two gymnasiums.  

To purchase a day pass, present your Alumni Weekend event badge to the Braun Athletic Center. Credit/debit or Apple pay accepted; no cash payments.

Caltech Library Access

You and your guests are invited to visit the Sherman Fairchild during regular operating hours. 

Caltech Store – Alumni Discount

Head over to the Hameetman Center to visit the campus store and enjoy a 15% alumni discount on insignia merchandise during Alumni Weekend! Show your badge during store hours to stock up on your Caltech swag. Learn more about store hours and latest swag.
