On Saturday, May 17, 2026, alumni, students, faculty, and community friends of Caltech gathered for the 89th annual Seminar Day. It was a full day dedicated to curiosity, exploration, and the exchange of ideas across science and engineering. Held in person at Beckman Auditorium and online for attendees around the world, the event showcased the breadth of innovation and research by Caltech faculty, all happening throughout the Institute.
Throughout the day, attendees heard from faculty and student speakers on topics ranging from artificial intelligence in mathematical research and the varying properties of engineering materials. Guests also explored campus through behind-the-scenes lab tours, student research presentations, and conversations with fellow Techers who share a passion for discovery.
Seminar Day once again highlighted what makes the Caltech community so unique: a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and a drive to better understand the world.
