On March 23 and 24, alumni, postdocs, parents, and members of the Caltech community gathered in San Diego and Seattle for two evenings with Caltech President Thomas F. Rosenbaum.

Together, the events brought Techers across the West Coast into conversation, reflecting the strength of the Caltech network in regions known for leadership in science, engineering, technology, and research.

In San Diego, guests met at The Clubhouse at Torrey Heights for a program moderated by Paul Penzes (BS ’96, MS ’99, PhD ’02), vice president at Qualcomm. The discussion with President Rosenbaum explored the Institute’s priorities and current research directions, followed by audience Q&A and continued conversation over refreshments.

The following evening in Seattle, the Caltech community gathered at the Rainier Club for a similar program, moderated by Caltech Alumni Association Board Chair Dan Liebling (BS ’02). President Rosenbaum shared remarks and engaged directly with attendees in a wide-ranging discussion on science, technology, and the Institute’s future.

Across both evenings, attendees represented a broad mix of industries and disciplines, from academia and biotechnology to engineering and emerging fields. Each gathering created space for meaningful discussion while reinforcing connections within the local Techer community.

Following the formal programs, conversations continued as guests reconnected with familiar faces and met fellow Techers in their region.

From San Diego to Seattle, these gatherings highlighted the depth, curiosity, and collaborative spirit that define the Caltech community.

Thank you to everyone who joined and helped make these events a success.
