Dear Caltech Friends,
I am pleased to announce that TEDxCaltech will return to campus on Friday, January 18, 2013.
This year, speakers, performers, and some very special guests will share some of the latest research, experiences, and insights, all having to do with the brain. TEDxCaltech: The Brain will continue in the spirit of sharing big ideas in an informative, engaging, and inspiring environment.
At our first TEDxCaltech, over 1,000 attendees converged on campus for an event that showcased the intellectual and creative talent of our extraordinary faculty, students, and alumni, along with world-renowned speakers. TEDxCaltech: The Brain promises to be even better.
As details of the day become available-including the schedule, speakers, and tickets-they will be posted to the event website: http://tedxcaltech.com.
There are also opportunities for you to get involved right now.
Become a Volunteer. Events like this take the best efforts of a lot of people, and there is a role for anyone interested in volunteering. I encourage students, faculty, and staff to consider volunteering their time and talent to help make this high-profile event a great success. http://tedxcaltech.com/volunteers.
Apply to be a Student Speaker. The program will feature talented student or postdoc speakers giving their own TED talk. If you want to share your own idea with the world, please apply by October 19th at http://tedxcaltech.com/student_speakers.
TEDxCaltech: The Brain will introduce you to new knowledge and big ideas. I hope you will consider speaking, volunteering, and attending on January 18th!
Yours in Discovery,
