For more than 25 years, Kortschak has advised and invested in start-up and growth-stage companies principally in the technology sector.
Walter and his wife, Marcia, are active philanthropists in the area of education. Over the past decade, the Kortschaks have been ardent supporters of students who learn differently. The Kortschaks are President’s Circle members of the Caltech Associates, and Walter is a member of the Caltech Alumni Association and of the Chair’s Council of the Institute’s Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
