Prof. Moskowitz grew up in the Bronx and studied at the High School of Music and Art (having inherited his father’s love of opera and talent for creating fine art).

Truly multi-gifted, he also loved science and math and chose to pursue instead his BS in Civil Engineering at Brooklyn Polytechnic, then on to the California Institute of Technology on a full scholarship for his Masters in Hydrodynamic Engineering (after which he worked on the unique nuclear sub USS Halibut). He then went back to Brooklyn Poly for his PhD in Astronautics (after which he worked on the Apollo Program). During his long career, he also held positions at the GE Space Technology Lab in PA and General Dynamics in CA.After immigrating to Israel, he held professorships at Hebrew University’s School of Applied Science and Applied Mathematics - doing research in the medical fields of cardiology and ophthalmology - and represented Israel at numerous international conferences.

Prof. Moskowitz leaves his wife Daphna, sons Mark and Don, grandsons Jadin and Jacob (Erin), and siblings Eileen and Joel (Marlene).
