DESCRIPTION:A Gathering for Atlanta Alumni and CCE Techers\nAtlanta-area alumni\, postdoctoral scholars\, and all members of the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering\, along with the broader Caltech community\, are invited to a reception held in conjunction with the American Chemical Society Spring Meeting at the Georgia World Conference Center. \nMembers of the CCE community being recognized at this year’s meeting include John S. Anderson (PhD ’14)\, Garnet Chan\, Geoffrey W. Coates\, Gregory C. Fu\, A. J. Gellman (BS ’81)\, James M. Mayer (PhD ’83)\, John McIntosh\, Scott J. Miller\, Jonas C. Peters\, Brian M. This gathering brings together the Techer community in a region known for scientific research\, biotechnology\, engineering\, and cross-disciplinary innovation. \nHosted at The Clubhouse at Torrey Heights\, the evening features a conversation with President Rosenbaum followed by audience Q&A and continued time for discussion over refreshments. Rosenbaum\n					\n					President; Sonja and William Davidow Presidential Chair; Professor of Physics \nThomas F. Rosenbaum\, Sonja and William Davidow Presidential Chair and Professor of Physics\, is the ninth President of Caltech. He is an expert on the quantum mechanical nature of materials\, conducting research at Bell Laboratories\, IBM Watson Research Center\, and the University of Chicago\, where he served as Vice President for Research & Argonne National Laboratory and then Provost\, before moving to Caltech in 2014. He received his bachelor’s degree in physics with honors from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University.
