Delve into Inca history at remarkable ruins in Cusco and the Sacred Valley\, and meet residents of a mountain village. Julia applies stable isotope methods to answer an array of ecological\, physiological\, and evolutionary questions. Her research program lies at the intersection of paleontology\, organismal biology\, and geochemistry\, and combines laboratory experiments and fieldwork in understudied regions\, such as western Amazonia and the Central Andes. \n\nJulia started her academic life as a paleontologist at the Natural History Museum of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima\, Peru. After completion of her undergraduate studies\, she moved to the USA where she earned an MS from the University of Florida\, an MA and MPhil from Columbia University\, and a PhD from Columbia University and the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
