Alumni at the South Pole

Caltech alumnus Pete Mason ('51 BS Ph, '52 MS ME, '62 PhD EE) is spending a month at the South Pole to assist with cutting edge research on the origins of the universe. A new telescope is being installed at the Amundsen-Scott Station as part of BICEP (Background Imaging of Cosmic Extragalactic Polarization), a research project based at Caltech.
